Dying

Diana Sagarese

this is a poem of a woman goning through a tough time in her life, so she pushes her problems acide using alcohole. She is becoming dependent on alcohole to "soften" her day "prettier". The way I imagine her when I read this poem is as a woman hwo once was succesfull in life and got laid of. She started using alcohol to forget about her geeveces. I chose this poem because it expreses what many alcoholics go through dayly.

The author uses personifacation here:

"Not thinking of the tomorrows
That would have to be again softened."

She uses alliteration here in the poem:

"As she sipped on her drink."
